The Newberry Building located in downtown Long Beach on Pine Avenue just north of 5th Street received a face-lift, courtesy of several Long Beach organizations.
The images are from local museums including the Long Beach Museum of Art, the Museum of Latin American Art and University Art Museum. Iconography Studios is proud to have designed, printed and installed this project.
“The Newberry Building project was a perfect candidate for transforming a street-level eyesore into something much more interesting, creative and attractive. This should be the first of several such transformations, where we can partner to bring images from our local arts and culture scene to a broader audience,” explains Craig Watson, Executive Director of the Arts Council for Long Beach.
This and upcoming projects are efforts by the Office of Councilmember Robert Garcia, First District, the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency, the Downtown Long Beach Associates, and The Arts Council for Long Beach to improve the North Pine area. “North Pine has traditionally not received the same resources as the rest of Downtown and we are committed to change that,” said Councilmember Robert Garcia.
