This Sprinter van, previously wrapped by Iconography a few years ago, was given an updated look with a new wrap at our facility in Los Alamitos, CA.
In order to effectively install a full wrap on a Sprinter van that includes fully covering the deep grooves in the side panels of the vehicle, a special vehicle wrap material is required. We only use 3M’s IJ380 with a special UV matching laminate by 3M as well. The standard 3M IJ180 vehicle wrap material, when used on Sprinter vans, would need to have the material cut out of the grooves when it is installed, as there simply isn’t enough surface area along the ridges of the grooves for the material to adhere. If this process is not done, the material will eventually lift and bubble over time, causing the wrap to fail. There is a slightly higher cost for the IJ380 material, but it really is the only option if you don’t want to have the white grooves of the vehicle cutting up your full wrap graphic.
You can see many examples of Sprinter van wraps on our website – this includes partial wraps, as well as wraps with the standard material that simply have the grooves cut out. You can see that this option will work with certain designs.
